HISTORY OF THE FIRM

Peter H. Hand and Associates, Inc. has been providing design services since Peter H. Hand, FAIA, established the firm in 1973. Hand Design Studios developed out of Peter H. Hand and Associates, Inc. in 2005.

Richard + Wittschiebe, an architectural, planning, and interior design firm, was founded in 1984 by Carol Richard, AIA and Janice Wittschiebe, AIA. In 1994 Mark Brandli and Bill Polk joined R+W and in 2003 became partners.

In early 2007, Richard + Wittschiebe and Hand Design Studio joined forces. The two firms shared the same client-oriented and design driven philosophy making it a great partnership.

Richard Wittschiebe Hand is now a firm of twenty-three professionals and staff and the spirit of collaboration on projects extends from within our office to include our clients, consultants, contractors and the broader project team.

The practice is Certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE).
